All were being held in lieu of $500,000 bail at the Southwest Detention Center and were slated to make their initial court appearance this afternoon at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.

Riverside County sheriff's officials allege that around 1 p.m. Monday, the three male defendants rushed into the bank armed with handguns and wearing masks and wigs in an attempt to conceal their identities.

One of the defendants allegedly struck an employee during the takeover robbery, which lasted a couple of minutes, after which the bandits fled in a white Chevrolet Tahoe waiting outside, according to sheriff's Sgt. Todd Pauling.

Deputies located the SUV moments later burning in the 31700 block of Canyon Estates Drive. Pauling said a deputy was able to extinguish the flames, adding that a check of the license plate confirmed the vehicle had been stolen out of Compton.

Deputies fanned out and were able to quickly apprehend Jackson, who was standing next to a parked car, Pauling said. He said Boulden and Tate, who had been loitering nearby, fled when deputies approached.

"The Riverside County sheriff's helicopter and a sheriff's service dog responded and assisted in apprehending both males," Pauling said. "One of them was in possession of a loaded handgun and a ski mask."

Williams was caught attempting to flee the area in a vehicle but complied with deputies' orders to pull over and was taken into custody without incident, the sergeant said.

Cash taken from the bank was located in a bag tucked underneath a car, he said.

The clerk struck during the hold-up was treated for minor injuries by paramedics but did not require hospitalization.--City News Service
