Major Construction On Clinton Keith Bridge To Begin

Construction is set to start on a long-awaited project that will see the bridge on Clinton Keith Road in Wildomar widened in an effort to alleviate daily gridlock at the site.
“It is a go,” said Wildomar Public Works Director Tim D’Zmura during Wednesday night’s City Council meeting. “We have a construction project, not a design project.”
The Riverside County Board of Supervisors has approved the multi-million dollar contract award for the project to Brea-based Griffith Co., according to Wildomar Mayor Ben Benoit.
Construction on the project is expected to begin in April with a groundbreaking ceremony anticipated in late March. The project is scheduled to take 18 months to complete and will see the bridge widened from two to six lanes. Additionally, sidewalks will be installed in both directions, and signal lights, a center lane, improved freeway on/offramps, and seismic upgrades are also part of the widening project, D’Zmura said.
Wildomar City Councilwoman Bridgette Moore warned the public Wednesday night that during construction motorists should expect delays along Clinton Keith Road. During construction, the city plans to keep the public informed on traffic conditions, detours and news through a yet-to-be-launched Facebook page as well as the city’s existing website.
The widening project was made possible through the Transportation Uniform Mitigation Fee Program.

This is great news, I alway wonder why do they wait for all the homes to be built and all he people to move in then tere the roads up. Why don't they do this stuff when the builder aplies for the permits to build 10,000 homes?

They better not screw it up like they did the Los Alamos Bridge. They need to build it like the 215 Clinton Keith on ramps. Idiots made almost no change to Los Alamos.

This is the beginning of 20 years of construction (don't believe it, just look at Cal-Oaks under the 15 freeway). Like usual the county is going to do a half-ass job. Instead of clover-leafing the on-off ramps which would eliminate cross traffic at the ramps and the need for lights, while land is still available, they are only going to make a larger parking lot over the freeway. And then in a few years they will add a little more to the parking lot and on and on until they finally get it right. Kind of like they have done with Cal-Oaks, Winchester and Rancho California Roads. These people never seem to learn from their previous screw ups.
