Man Arrested For Sexting 16-Year-Old Lake Elsinore Girl

An 18-year-old man from Garden Grove was arrested this morning for texting sexually explicit pictures of himself to a 16-year-old Lake Elsinore girl.

Tommy Phnoc Nguyen was collared at 9:05 a.m. at a residence in the 10600 block of Frances Avenue in Garden Grove.

The arrest came after detectives from the Lake Elsinore Police Department served a search warrant at the home.

“Nguyen had been in contact with a 16-year-old female from the city of Lake Elsinore and had been communicating with her by sending sexually-related text messages and nude images of himself,” said Sgt. Patrick Chavez in a Lake Elsinore Police Department news release.

The girl’s parents discovered the texts and contacted law enforcement, the sergeant reported.

Although the arrest was made in Garden Grove, Lake Elsinore Police Department detectives have assumed the investigation.

Nguyen was transported to Southwest Detention Center.
