The 2011 Christmas Tree Lane Numbers Are In: $13,580!
Over its history, the Original Christmas Tree Lane has generated and donated more than $184,000 to organizations that support local youth, according to an event organizer.
How much money did the annual Original Christmas Tree Lane in Lake Elsinore raise this past season?
According to organizer Glenn Copple, the 13th annual event held at the Lake Elsinore Outlets sold a whopping $13,580 in raffle tickets!
This past season's Original Christmas Tree Lane saw more than a dozen holiday trees at the mall each outfitted with a pile of gifts that were raffled off to the community. Raffle ticket proceeds benefitted local causes that support area youth, according to organizers.
Copple provided a break down on how the $13,580 was distributed this year:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest County--$6,790
Wildomar Rotary/Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Student Training Camp--$1,150
Student of the Year sponsored by the Lake Elsinore Valley and Wildomar chambers of commerce--$2,275
Boy Scouts Troop #430--$1,000
Marilyn DeJong Memorial Scholarships--$1,000
SNAP--$400
According to Copple, the balance of funds -- $964 -- is being held for the start up of the 2012 event.

This is such an awesome event, Betty & Glenn work their butts off every year to make this happen and get nothing for it but self gratification. I have had the privilege of being one of the volunteers for the past few years, it is so much fun and a great kick off for the Christmas season. Great job you two, see you for next year.

This event is already working for another successful this year, Betty has acquired major merchandise for 14 trees still seeking enough for 18 trees this year. We are always available to pick up any new donations that we can put with the trees that will be raffled off. you can call Betty at 951 217 6291 or Glenn at 217 0621 If we are not in town we have other volunteers that will contact you. This is an all volunteer project with no overhead expense any expense incurred except advertising which is covered by donations. It's all for the local Youth.
