Wildomar Charter School To Remain In Shopping Center
Sycamore Academy of Science and Cultural Arts and the Lake Elsinore Unified School District have reached an agreement.
Sycamore Academy of Science and Cultural Arts will remain in Wildomar at its current location on Clinton Keith Road for another two years.
The charter school is extending its lease at 32326 Clinton Keith Road in the Barons Market shopping center for two years as a result of a January 31 agreement it has reached with the Lake Elsinore Unified School District.
The agreement between the charter school and the district has been approved by the Sycamore board and is expected to be approved by the LEUSD board Thursday during its regularly scheduled meeting. The agreement calls for the district to provide payment to the charter school of $195,000 per year over the 2012-13 and 2013-14 school years.
The payment is in lieu of a LEUSD campus site for Sycamore. California’s Proposition 39 requires school districts to provide local charter schools with facilities that are sufficient and reasonably equivalent to other buildings, classrooms, or facilities in the district. Sycamore officials had submitted a request to the district for a campus back in October. The vacant Jean Hayman Elementary School on Lemon Street in Wildomar was considered as an option, but that deal fell through in large part because the site sits atop earthquake faults.
According to LEUSD documents, both parties are in favor of the two-year "in lieu of" settlement.
Meanwhile, Sycamore officials maintain they are continuing to seek out a second campus location, preferably in Wildomar, to accomodate increased student enrollment and facilities needs.

With 24,000 square feet it works out to 8.13 per square foot per year which is .68 per square foot per month, As for rent that is a pretty good deal in this area. Also can be broken down to $650 per child per year or $54 per month. Sound like pretty cheep child care to me.
As for them staying in the shopping complex they are in its probably a good thing, otherwise, many people would not go into this complex and many of the businesses would close.
As for Jean Hayman the fact that an earthquake fault was found on the site prevents any government agency and many private investors from spending any monies on this site.

That above comment was written by the vice prinicipal, Oh yeah I know her. she always breaks money down to 'cheap child care' crazy woman, Why don't you worry about educating kids instead of 'labeling' the ones you can for more funding, And lets be honest why do you want to remain in Wildomar? backing of Wildomar city hall? other wise you might consider Butterfield its closed, But in Lake Elsinore. You don't want those kids! low class right? You just want LEUSD's funding which these kids need. Yes I am a parent of a former student, this school can not remain open. matter of time.

Since you like to consider yourself a day care why dont you just close your doors as a school. personally I dont need a baby sitter. sycamore has broke so many laws and pushed so many boundries (what is that) Also your kid test BELOW state standards. Unless they are tested on dancing and coloring.Vent over for now. You'll hear my name mentioned again at the next board meeting .
