Wildomar's Bridgette Moore Victorious In Reelection Bid And Parks' Win

UPDATED 8:28 a.m.: After a devastating parks’ loss last year, Wildomar City Councilwoman Bridgette Moore has a lot to celebrate this time around.

In addition to winning her reelection bid Tuesday, the councilwoman's passion for keeping city parks open has also succeeded at the ballot box.

Wildomar parks' supporters sqeaked out a narrow victory by passing Measure Z with the required a two-thirds majority. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, the final tally was 66.77 percent.

Wildomar resident John Lloyd has spearheaded the Measure Z campaign efforts and said by phone Wednesday that it was indeed a very good day.

"It passed by about 25 votes," he said, adding that he believes the two-thirds majority would hold if the results were challenged.

During her stop at an Election Night party at The Diamond Tuesday with a host of political VIPs, Moore was all smiles as election results trickled in.

From onset, she maintained a comfortable lead in the race for city council, and the results for Measure Z continued to show increases in the number of Yes votes as the night went on.

Incumbent Wildomar Councilman Bob Cashman, who was also up for reelection and supported the parks' measure, was victorious in his bid.

Moore's and Cashman's seats were the only two up for grabs on the Wildomar City Council this year.

Tuesday night Moore told Patch she was grateful to her supporters and the volunteers who worked on the Measure Z campaign.

“There were a lot of people who worked very hard,” she said.

Moore herself dedicated much of her time as well to the effort.

“I actually campaigned more for parks than I did for myself,” she said.
