Good business decisions are driven by studying demographics - the facts and figures that wouldRead Moreindic ate that there are enough people in this area whose earning levels are high enough to support this kind of specialty store and make it a profitable business.

Personally, I prefer the mom and pop shops. I'm so tired of these large chain stores. IMO we don'tRead Moren eed a Trader Joes, what we need is an organic market.
KMA July 23, 2014 at 02:30 PM

I know Pat Kilroy about 3 years. He worked with us to build the Lake Elsinore Community Garden in Read MoreRosetta Canyon Park. Pat worked as the Director of Parks and Recreation. I can't imagine where we would be without Pat. I support Pat in whatever he is involved in. He is a great person and it is one citizen who is truly making a difference in this city. Thank you so much, Pat. God Bless you and yours and, if you need anyone to support any cause, you can count on the people enjoying the Lake Elsinore Community Garden.
Roberto July 20, 2014 at 08:45 AM
What is Kilroy trying to say? The City was throwing tax dollars down the drain and now that he isRead Morete rminated they should stop? Just another problem. We need to keep our NEW City Manager and let him keep showing rift-raft like Kilroy the door.
Brent Blackhurst July 20, 2014 at 06:43 PM
So the City paid a couple hundred thousand dollars in untested technology that results in 5-timesRead Moreth e operating cost to fill potholes. If I understand this report and ramifications, then the City will patch 5-times less potholes for the same amount of money. That seems to describe mismanagement to me.
Diana July 20, 2014 at 08:49 PM
So if Grant Yates is all that you say he is, then tell me when will we see some positive growthRead More(oth er then more houses on roads that can't handle what we have), like always it is the people in the past that keep this town down, well Magee and Hickman along with the City Attorney have had permanent residency on the City for a long time!! They're all happy over a new frozen yogurt shop in town, wow I guess we should all jump for joy or just be thankful that it wasn't another dollar store, but I think we're maxed out on them, 4 should hold us for a while!!! You can't be serious that you're all fine with the way things are??? I don't want Temecula or Murrieta but I would love a decent place to have a steak, somewhere to buy clothing and shoes other then the Outlet Mall that offers crap clothing at a not so discount!! How long are you old timers going to sit back and just do nothing, while everything in this town go's further and further in the toilet??
Diana July 14, 2014 at 06:55 PM
Check out the post titled District1: Communication skills needed! Poster has first hand information Read Moreregarding the homeless camp.
Diana July 15, 2014 at 12:52 PM
Councilmen Magee said at the last Council meeting they have set up a place for the homeless to goRead Moreat Lakeside High School, they are offering them assistance with food, clothing, housing and just about everything else they need, he also mentioned that they will probably be moving this service to the Culture Center once school starts, he was happy to report that 75 homeless showed up to take advantage of what they were offering!! I agree with Ken, unless you are going to disperse ALL of the encampments it is a waste of time, they will just relocate in another area, we have so much open space for them to hide!! Before you erase this LER, I have copied and saved it
Diana July 15, 2014 at 12:53 PM

I want to know why the only street in town that gets repaved is Main Street. Tell me that all theRead More&q uot;Vintage Stores" bring in major tax dollars? Why have 3 restaurants gone out of business there? Have you driven west on Lakeshore towards Terra Cotta middle school from 4 corners? I have been on dirt roads with fewer pot holes. I have lived in the area since 1988 and Elsinore has always been short sighted. Can't anyone take it from "Dream Extreme" to reality?
Diana July 16, 2014 at 07:05 PM
I agree George, I'm just not seeing all the improvements that are taking place since Yates hasRead Moretaken office, road improvements are sooooooo needed and I would love to see some landscaping done other then the constant beautification on Main Street. Perhaps Council members and the City Manager should actually drive around town and take a look, how about the ghetto that is right behind Main St ??? Now there's a great impression, laundry hanging on the fence, the streets are all torn up and on and on, and this kind of area repeats itself all over town!!!!!!!!!! Get Real!!

Steve, Yes I support your fight against the warehouses. Fighting this in Mead Valley. On the BOSRead Morea genda this Tuesday and fast tracked by Jeffries. The mega warehouse is one of many that they plan on building and is on the agenda for July 15th Board Meeting at 10:30 AM. http://rivcocob.org/agenda/2014/07_15_14.htm. Please attend and we can all help each other in the effort to stop Riverside County from being the smog capital of the world. Jeffries is pushing mega warehouses in Mead Valley and had a secret meeting of the Mead Valley MAC at Harry's Cafe violating the Brown Act as the meeting was in another district so that the residents would not know about it back on July 26th, 2013. All of the County Board members are currently pushing for the huge logistics warehouses. Issues are truck access going to be on Cajalco Expressway. Sharp curve in the road, going from 7 lanes down to 2 lanes in on block. Already a lot of deaths and accidents at this location. Warehouse next door to homes and church. Less than 2 miles from 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school, one high school, library community center, child care facility. One block from proposed park. The original plan called for smaller business park type of land uses and heavy industry along the freeway. The RCIP plan has an overlay of a mixture of business. Now they are pushing logistics centers for the entire industrial area. Another issue is the Panama Canal. When that opens they will not need all of these warehouses that will be built. Just like the over building of homes the area will take a huge economic hit as the flood of empty warehouses leave us the taxpayers on the hook to pay for all of the infrastructure. Many of the projects are giving huge incentives and not paying fees. Jeffries campaign contributions 05/09/2014 TSG recently from Cherry Valley L.P. Irvine, CA 92614 in the amount of $1,000. On October 18, 2013 Majestic Realty gave Jeffries $10,000. Another $5,000 contribution took place on January 1, 2013.

Diana, I HOPE YOU RECONSIDER NOT READING THE PATCH, YOU HAVE GOOD COMMENTS. I KNOW IT ISRead MoreFRUSTRATING THAT SOME SIMPLETON DELETES YOUR COMMENTS. I TOO HAVE HAD MOST OF MY COMMENTS DELETED AS WELL. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT TELLS ME? THAT SOMEONE DOESNT WANT THE TRUTH OUT THERE. WHEN SOMEONE DELETES SOMETHING THEY ARE AFRAID PEOPLE WILL SEE WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD PUT THEIR OWN COMMENT IN IF THEY DISAGREED WITH WHATEVER SOMEONE SAID. IF YOU STOP PARTICIPATING YOU ARE MORE OR LESS GIVING THEM WHAT THEY WANT. I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND IT TO BE ODD THAT PEOPLE THAT TRY TO SILENCE THE GOOD THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS OF OTHERS DONT CHANNEL THE ENERGY THEY PUT INTO QUIETING OTHERS AND USE THAT ENERGY FOR POSITIVE ACTIONS. I REALLY HOPE YOU STAY. LAKELAND VILLAGE NEEDS YOU TO KEEP POSTING...I HAVE ALWAYS LIVED WITH A THEORY THAT "IF IT WAS EASY...EVERYONE WOULD DO IT" PLEASE HANG IN THERE FOR US

I live right around the corner. It happened around 1am that morning. The screeching of the tiresRead Moreand the bang of the impact woke me up. There seemed to be a motorcycle involved as well as the timing of the screeching and the revving of the bike engine seem to be in sync. The bike looked and sounded like a newer Yamaha R1 with the big bang motor. It either had no exhaust or a very loud one. The guy rode around in our neighborhood for a few minutes trying to figure out how not to drive back by the accident site.
