Temecula, CA - April, 19 2012 - Inland Valley Classical Ballet Theatre welcomes The Honorable Douglas R. McAllister, Mayor and actor John Kelly as very special guest narrators at the upcoming Enchanted Mother’s Day Tea to be held at Svetlana's Dance Academy on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
Inland Valley Classical Ballet Theatre will host a Mother’s Day Family Tea and Tea Social Event, featuring live vignette performances selected from IVCBT’s much anticipated Swan Lake. Douglas R. McAllister, Mayor of Murrieta has graciously volunteered to host the 7PM Black and White evening performance, and John Kelly, founder of PRN Productions, has accepted an invitation to host the 2PM afternoon program. Each event helps to raise funds continuing IVCBT’s youth outreach programs, which has provided upwards of $40,000 in classes and specialized training to underfunded dancers in a special effort to preserve the art of classical ballet.
“Frequently,” says Paula Clemmer, Director of Development for IVCBT, “we come across children who simply cannot afford to dance. It’s heartbreaking to see the light of anticipation enter a child’s eyes when they see ‘real’ dancers, only to watch that light dim as they realize that mom and dad cannot afford classes. IVCBT strives to meet that need locally, by providing training scholarships to children aged 9 to 18, on an individual basis. We look at the entire family picture, and are often gifted with talented parents who contribute their own expertise to bring productions to the stage.”
