Kevin Jeffries and his staff are making a difference for the 1st District.

TRANSITION TO WATER DISTRICTS   (taken from the article written in the Press Enterprise)

Issue: About 140 households north of Bundy Canyon Road along the Wildomar-Menifee border lack safe, reliable water

Latest development: County supervisors voted Tuesday, March 18, to pursue receivership of the water system owned by a private company so they can arrange for the community to get clean water

Long-range: Elsinore Valley and Eastern municipal water districts, with the support of the county and the state, plan to take over the service and extend drinking water pipes there

Project cost: $5,583,916, funded by state grants

Obstacles: Transition to the water districts’ control requires them to go through the complicated process of annexing the area into their boundaries. Also, the districts are pursuing state legislation to protect them from lawsuits.
