Earthquake Rocks Riverside-San Diego County Line

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3 rocked the mountains south of the Coachella Valley at 10:33 a.m. today.

The epicenter was about 18 miles south of La Quinta, or 8 miles north of Borrego Springs, near the Riverside-San Diego County line, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The preliminary quake report came from automated sensors and had not been immediately reviewed by scientists for accuracy.
