Earthquakes Rattle Southern California

The first quake struck at 10:50 a.m. and was followed by a series of several others.

Four small earthquakes rumbled through the Coachella Valley today, but there were no reports of any damage or injuries.

The first quake, a magnitude-3.4, struck at 10:50 a.m. about 14 miles south-southwest of La Quinta, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

About half an hour later, a magnitude-3.7 quake struck, followed by a magnitude-2.6 about a minute later and magnitude-2.7 temblor at 12:48 p.m.
