Motorists who use northbound Interstate 215 through Moreno Valley and Riverside were advised to expect overnight detours when Caltrans closes a connector road Oct. 14-17 to accommodate a widening project.
The transition from the northbound I-215 to westbound state Route 60 will be closed for overnight work that includes removing temporary bridge supports and scaffolding.
Drivers who normal take the westbound 60 will be detoured off the 215 freeway at Day Street in Moreno Valley, according to Caltrans.
The $43 million 60/215 Junction Project got underway in mid-2011 and is slated for completion in the summer of 2014. The project entails adding HOV freeway connectors, realigning northbound I-215 where it meets Box Springs Road and Fair Isle Drive, and widening Box Springs Road to four lanes. --City News Service
