An earthquake centered near Lake Elsinore rocked the county today.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the 3.4 magnitude temblor struck at 6 a.m., 5.6 miles beneath the surface. Its epicenter was 2 miles north of Lake Elsinore and 16 miles south-southwest of Moreno Valley, the U.S.G.S. reported.
There have been no reports of serious damage. At press time, nearly 100 people as far away as Covina have reported feeling the quake to the U.S.G.S.
