Lake Elsinore Woman Honored By Lawmaker

Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries (R-Lake Elsinore) named Kimberly Ryan as the 2012 Woman of the Year for the 66th Assembly District during a special ceremony at the State Capitol.

A Lake Elsinore mom, wife and small business owner was honored in the California State Assembly Monday.

Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries (R-Lake Elsinore) named Kimberly Ryan as the 2012 Woman of the Year for the 66th Assembly District during a special ceremony at the State Capitol.  

Honorees from each of the state's 80 Assembly districts gathered in Sacramento to be recognized on the Assembly floor.

“Kimberly Ryan, small business owner of Tulips, Trophies and Treasures located on Main Street in downtown Lake Elsinore, has a deep and abiding commitment to her faith, family and community,” stated a news release from Jeffries’ office Monday. “Kimberly has a great passion for life, assisting others, children, doing her best and her greatest passion of all is for the Lord.  

“Among her many roles in the community, Kimberly leads a monthly prayer walk on Main Street and has met with City Leaders to gain their approval of plans to beautify it,” the news release continued.

"I was extremely honored to have been chosen from amongst the many outstanding candidates that represent the 66th District - I feel blessed,” Ryan said. “The courtesy and professionalism that was exhibited by the Legislature in honoring all the Women of California was an unforgettable experience and one I will treasure for a lifetime.  I was truly humbled to stand among so many amazing women with incredible stories of achievement."

"I have known Kimberly and her husband for many years, and I was very pleased to got to honor someone who has spent her own time, energy, and resources to help improve my hometown and our community," Jeffries said.

According to her Facebook page, Ryan has been married to her husband Harvey for 17 years. He is a business owner and serves as board president of Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District.
