Live-Fire Explosions, Thunder And Motocross Making For Loud Weekend In Wildomar, Lake Elsinore

Is it thunder, Camp Pendleton training exercises, or motorcycles?

Three loud events are occurring in or around Lake Elsinore and Wildomar, and it may be hard to tell what is what.

Firstly, Camp Pendleton has issued a noise advisory due to live fire and munitions training by troops on the base. The booms are being heard Saturday morning and are expected throughout the week. Click here for the base's noise advisory and training schedule.

Second, the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park is hosting the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross National today. The event is the grand finale of an event that has toured the nation all year long. The National is being televised and features top riders. Click here for more info.

Finally, Mother Nature has some wild weather in store courtesy of Tropical Storm Ivo. The central and eastern portions of the county are expecting thunderstorms, which may be heard locally. At press time, Lake Elsinore is expected to feel some of Ivo's effects by Monday, as forecasters are predicting a 30 percent chance of rain, lightning and thunder.
