Power Restored to Nearly 4,000 in Lake Elsinore

An SCE spokesman said electricity went out for 3,922 customers at 1:35 p.m. Thursday when a vehicle damaged an electrical wire.

Power was knocked out to nearly 4,000 customers Thursday in Lake Elsinore when a vehicle damaged an electrical wire, a Southern California Edison spokesman said.

According to Paul Netter with SCE, the incident happened at about 1:35 p.m. on East Rockridge Road in Lake Elsinore.

"The equipment locked up to prevent further damage and power was lost until 2:32 p.m. for 3,922 customers," Netter said.

East Rockridge is off of Toft Drive, near Grand Avenue northwest of Highway 74.

The widespread outage did not affect any school campuses, said Mark Dennis, spokesman for Lake Elsinore Unified School District.

"I have not heard a report from any our of sites and I think I would have," Dennis told Patch.

Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Lisa McConnell did not have any information on the incident.
