Stagecoach Festival Goers To Get Kris Kristofferson

Country music singer and actor Kris Kristofferson was added to Stagecoach, organizers announced today.

Kristofferson replaces Loretta Lynn, who canceled her appearance at next week's country music festival because of recent knee surgery.

The 74-year-old Kristofferson, whose songwriting hits include  "Me and Bobby McGee and "Help Me Make it Through the Night,' played at the inaugural Stagecoach Country Music Festival in 2007.

The country music event takes place April 30 and May 1 in Indio. It is headlined by Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood. Darius Rucker, Josh Turner and Easton Corbin will also perform.

Stagecoach will close a three-week music binge at the Empire Polo Grounds. The country show will follow tomorrow's one-day Big Four Festival, featuring four of the most popular heavy metal rock bands. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival took over the Indio complex last weekend. --City News Service
