Homicide-Suicide Reported In Lake Elsinore

Two people are reported dead in Lake Elsinore and police are treating the investigation as a homicide-suicide.

The bodies of a male and female were found shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 29000 block of 3rd Street in Lake Elsinore. Both appeared to have suffered gun shot wounds, according to Sgt. Todd Torrenti of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Central Homicide Unit.

According to Torrenti, police received a call at approximately 10:37 p.m. asking authorities to check the welfare of those at the residence.

“Upon arrival, officers were able to see an apparently deceased male through a window. Entry was made into the residence and they also located a deceased female within the residence,” Torrenti reported.The Identities of the two are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

According to Torrenti’s report, the investigation is being treated as a homicide-suicide. It is not clear who may have shot who, based on Torrenti’s report.
