Curves In Lake Elsinore Signs On To Help H.O.P.E.

The Curves in Lake Elsinore is participating in a food drive to benefit H.O.P.E.

The following is an unedited press release:

To raise awareness of the challenges facing local food banks, Curves International has kicked off the 2012 Curves Food Drive and is encouraging all local Curves clubs to meet or exceed their food bank donations from last year.

Locally, Curves Lake Elsinore on Riverside Drive is asking members to donate bags of non-perishable food in support of H.O.P.E., Helping Our People in Elsinore. Non-members can even get a jump start on their health and fitness goals by donating one full grocery bag of food from March 12 – 25 to have their sign-up membership fees waived.

"Curves is committed to supporting the health and well-being of our members, so the food drive is a natural extension of that commitment to the communities where our clubs are located," said Curves founder Diane Heavin. "Many families are struggling with basic expenses and need some help to make ends meet. Our food drive gives our members a way to reach out and support their neighbors."

Now in its 14th year, the Curves Food Drive recognizes the need for local donations is greater than ever. This year’s theme, “Good for your Body and Soul”, challenges members to bring non-perishable food to the Curves Club at 31733 Riverside Drive when they work out during the month of March.  But non-members hoping to improve their health and perhaps join a gym can also benefit.

According to Curves Lake Elsinore owner Michelle Welsh, non-members can “feel doubly good about life when you help your community and yourself. Bring a bag of non-perishable food into Curves and your sign-up fees are waived!”

All donations will be sent to H.O.P.E., Welsh said, and will help feed local families.

Your donations could mean even more for H.O.P.E. as Curves International is offering cash prizes to clubs that bring in the most donations and clubs that show the biggest increase in donations over last year.  Curves is even picking two clubs at random to receive cash prizes, which will then be forwarded to their local food banks. Last year, Curves Lake Elsinore members helped stock H.O.P.E.’s pantry shelves, contributing to the nearly 750,000 meals H.O.P.E. provides to needy seniors, single parents, and the disabled annually.
