At camp mentors encourage the children “to activate the champion in them on the sports courts, field trips, and in the creative arts,” according to a Community Outreach Ministry news release. “At camp, a youngster’s individual aptitude is released by giving them a second chance to become winners and champions. Investing in the lives of children of prisoners … is creating a positive outcome for them to feel accepted and valued by their peers and mentors.”
