UPDATE: Thunderstorm Brings Flooding

Rain is reported locally and streets did flood in Lake Elsinore and Wildomar.

UPDATED 4:40 p.m.: Thunder heard across Southwest Riverside County Thursday has been coming from a heavy storm sitting over the Perris/Sun City area.

Rain is reported locally and streets did flood in Lake Elsinore and Wildomar, although the storm waters appear to be receding at press time; a flash flood warning remained in effect until 4:30 p.m. today for west central Riverside County.

“Locations in the [flash flood] warning include but are not limited to Moreno Valley, March Field, Nuevo, Lakeview, Perris and Sun City,” the NWS reported. “Flooding is occurring or is imminent.”

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department reported floodwater rescues in Moreno Valley and San Timoteo Canyon.
