AMRO Fabricating Looking To Hire Over 100 People

About 60 percent of the jobs AMRO is seeking to fill are skilled labor, with the balance being professional positions, a few of which will pay six figures.

A company leasing space at the March Air Reserve Base, just south of Riverside, is expected to add about 115 new positions over the next few months, it was announced today.

Thanks to a lease deal negotiated by the city of Riverside and the March Joint Powers Authority, which manages the air base, AMRO Fabricating Corp. agreed to locate a manufacturing operation in a facility previously occupied by air freight hauler DHL.

"Especially given the continued high unemployment rate, we are constantly seeking jobs, jobs and more jobs for our residents,'' said Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge. "But more importantly, we are delighted to welcome the kind of high-quality jobs which AMRO is bringing.''

According to city officials, the company recently secured a contract with Boeing to assemble shipping containers specifically designed to transport parts for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, now in production.

AMRO will be utilizing 100,332 square feet -- about a third -- of the old DHL hangar.

"This is the beginning of many jobs that the March Joint Powers Authority is working to create in the coming months,'' said Councilman Andy Melendrez. --City News Service
