Fourth Hearing Scheduled For Liberty Quarry Project

The July 18 hearing is open to the public.

A fourth hearing that will decide the fate of a planned quarry just south of Temecula has been scheduled.

The hearing is set for 9 a.m. July 18 at Rancho Community Church in Temecula, said Ray Smith, a spokesperson for the county. For the location, .

The hearing will give Granite Construction, a Watsonville-based mining company, an opportunity to further make its case in support of its planned Liberty Quarry project.

The company applied for a change in zoning, an exception to a noise ordinance and surface mining permits.

The Riverside County Planning Commission will vote on the noise ordinance exception and mining permits at the end of the hearing.
