Time Warner Offers Phone Subscribers Free Calls to Stricken Philippines

Time Warner is offering its phone customers free calls to the Philippines through the end of November to keep in touch with family in the typhoon-stricken country.

Time Warner Cable announced Thursday that all calls placed by its phone service customers to landline and mobile numbers in the typhoon-stricken Philippines will be free through the end of November.

The offer is also retroactive for calls placed to the Philippines since Nov. 8.

"It is a difficult time for those who have loved ones in the Philippines and our thoughts go out to those impacted by Typhoon Haiyan. To help the Filipino-American community keep in touch with family and friends, we are making all calls placed to the Philippines free for our phone customers,” said Rob Marcus, Time Warner Cable’s President and COO.
