EVMWD's Annual Water Quality Report Issued

The yearly analysis is required by California Department of Public Health and provides customers with information about drinking water quality.

The water supplied by the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) continues to meet or exceed all state and federal health standards, according to the findings of its Annual Water Quality Report.

The yearly analysis is required by California Department of Public Health and provides customers with information about drinking water quality.

EVMWD uses three sources of water for its drinking water, receiving 60 percent of its water from outside sources, 30 percent from its groundwater wells and 10 percent from Canyon Lake, the district’s sole source of surface water, according to an EVMWD news release.

Every year, the district conducts roughly 12,000 tests for more than 150 contaminants at hundreds of locations throughout the district using its own state-certified Water Quality Testing laboratory, according to the news release.

EVMWD’s lab also tests water from Lake Elsinore. Even though Lake Elsinore is not a drinking water source for EVMWD customers, the water is regularly tested to monitor for improved recreation purposes, the release stated.
