Firefighters Knock Down 10-Acre Blaze Near Wildomar

A brush fire that broke out Tuesday just east of Wildomar has been contained, an official is reporting.

The 10-acre blaze reported just before 4 p.m. at Okuma and Evans roads in Menifee was quickly contained within about 25 minutes and there are no reports of injuries or structure damage, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

Forty-five firefighters, 10 engine companies and two overhead personnel were assigned to the blaze that burned at a moderate rate in light grass, Hagemann reported.

Firefighters will be on scene until at least 6:30 p.m. for mop-up, Hagemann said.
