Frost In Forecast For Lake Elsinore

Clear skies and the tail end of a cold winter storm means an overnight low of 28 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Lake Elsinore residents might need an extra blanket tonight.

A frost advisory was in effect after 10 p.m. Sunday on the tails of a cold winter storm that brought rain to Lake Elsinore and snow in the higher elevations Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The overnight low should be around 28 degrees, the weather service reported.

Growers were warned to take precaution against the below freezing temperatures.

The NWS encouraged residents to protect frost-sensitive plants and bring potted flowers and vegetables indoors.

This weekend’s storm promised the possibility of snow Saturday night in Lake Elsinore, but that never materialized.

Instead, the foothills around the city were frosted with a light dusting of snow.
