Heavy Explosions, Live Fire Exercises Shaking Southwest Riverside

The heavy booms rocking Southwest Riverside aren’t weather-related.

Camp Pendleton units are conducting artillery live-fire exercises from 6 a.m. to midnight.

The training is being conducted in the Zulu and Whiskey impact areas. The sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
