UPDATE: High Wind Warning Dropped To Advisory

The National Weather Service is warning that travel below Cajon Pass, and on portions of the 10, 60, 15 and 215 freeways, is particularly hazardous for high-profile vehicles.

4/30 UPDATE 2:30 p.m..: The high winds whipping through Lake Elsinore and Wildomar today will continue to blow through Sunday, but the National Weather Service has downgraded its earlier "warning" to an "advisory."

The National Weather Service had issued a high wind warning Saturday morning, which remained in effect until 2 p.m. A wind advisory is now in place through Sunday afternoon.

Expect winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph below passes and canyons through 2 p.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Service is warning that conditions will make driving difficult, especially for motorists with high-profile vehicles.

“Watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines,” the National Weather Service stated today. “This will be particularly hazardous for high-profile vehicles below Cajon Pass, (and) on portions of the 10, 60, 15 and 215 freeways.”

4/30 ORIGNAL POST: The high winds whipping through Lake Elsinore and Wildomar today will continue to blow through this afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning that will remain in effect until 2 p.m. today.

A wind advisory was issued yesterday, but increased wind speeds through sunrise prompted the warning.

Expect winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 65 mph below passes and canyons.
