Local Residents Hired To Promote City Of Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore now has two local residents working to promote the city’s identity, ever-increasing activities, growth, and continued efforts to become a leading tourism destination in Southern California.

Earlier this month the city welcomed its newest employees, Director of Community Development Grant Taylor and Management Analyst Nicole Dailey.

Taylor, who started with the city on May 13, will manage the overall operation of the city’s Community Development Department, including planning, building and safety, and code enforcement, according to a news release from the city. He will also play a critical role on the city’s economic development team.

Dailey will be responsible for community, media and intergovernmental relations and will assist the city manager with special projects and programs, the news release stated. Her first day with the city was May 20.

“Both of these positions are critical for the city and will be an integral part of helping the city become the ultimate lake destination where our residents can live, work, play, build futures and fulfill dreams,” Mayor Bob Magee said. “We were very fortunate to find local, well-qualified professionals who are eager to join our team and passionate about our community.”

Both Taylor and Dailey live locally. Taylor has been a resident of Horsethief Canyon for 11 years and Dailey has lived in Lake Elsinore for more than 20 years, according to the news release.

Taylor comes to the city with more than 27 years of municipal experience. He most recently served as the director of development services for the City of San Juan Capistrano.  Prior to his public sector career, he was drafted by and played basketball for the Portland Trailblazers. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, the news release stated.

“I am glad to be a part of the city’s team,” Taylor said. “I look forward to working with the city council, city manager, residents, business owners and staff to bring positive developments to the city that will create jobs, revenue and opportunities for our community.”

Dailey has nearly 10 years of public relations and communications experience, primarily in the public sector. She comes to the city from the San Bernardino County Employees’ Retirement Association where she served as the communications officer. In addition, she previously served on the City of Lake Elsinore’s Public Safety Advisory Commission and the Citizen Corps Council. Dailey has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from San Diego State University and is currently earning her Master’s in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, according to the news release.

“I have lived here since I was 7 years old, and I am thrilled to be able to serve my community,” Dailey said. “I feel blessed to have the opportunity to make a difference and ensure our residents and businesses are well informed about how the city is improving our community and quality of life.”

Both of the city positions were existing vacancies. The director of community development position has been vacant for more than two years, while the management analyst position has been vacant since February of this year.

Taylor's annual salary is $134,566.85 and Dailey's is $82,710.
