Mortar And Artillery Fire At Pendleton To Last All Week
Today through Friday, the troops are firing high explosive munitions into the Zulu and Whiskey impact areas on the base.
Troops at Camp Pendleton are conducting live fire exercises this week, and the explosions are being heard across Southwest Riverside.
Today through Friday, the troops are firing high explosive munitions into the Zulu and Whiskey impact areas on the base. Live artillery fire and live mortar fire are being used.
The exercises are expected to take place each day from 6 a.m. to midnight.

According to base officials, depending on atmospheric conditions, the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.
