Thunder Rocking The Region

As a result of the thunderstorms, a few sprinkles may be possible locally.

Thunder is rocking Southwest Riverside Friday afteroon and a hazardous weather outlook has been forecast through this evening.

The National Weather Service is calling for “isolated high-based showers or thunderstorms … through this evening,” primarily in the mountains and deserts.

The thunderstorms may produce strong and gusty winds, as well as dangerous lightning, the NWS reported. At 1 p.m., the thunder was already being heard across Southwest Riverside.

As a result of the thunderstorms, a few sprinkles may be possible locally.  

While motorists should take precautions when traveling through the mountains and deserts, the NWS is reporting that the risk of flash flooding is minimal.
