Wind Advisory Issued; Gusts Up To 45 mph

A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 35 mph are expected, with frequent gusts of at least 45 mph.

As a trough of low pressure works its way through Southwest Riverside, the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory through 10 p.m. tonight for local mountains and deserts.

“A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 35 mph are expected, with frequent gusts of at least 45 mph,” the NWS advisory stated. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult; use extra caution.”

The advisory is in effect for the mountains and deserts of Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties.

Winds will gust locally, but as of Monday afternoon no advisories have been issued for Southwest Riverside.
