Winter Weather Returns To Lake Elsinore, Wildomar
There will be periods of moderate rain in the inland valleys and moderate to locally heavy snowfall in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
Wet and windy winter weather is expected to return to Riverside County today as a Pacific low pressure system moves inland.

The rain will move southward across the region this morning and end tonight, the agency advised. A total of an inch of rainfall is expected from the system.

The Weather Service issued a winter storm warning from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for areas above 6,000 feet, where 2 to 6 inches of snowfall is possible. Higher peaks could see up to 8 inches, according to the agency.
"Residents and travelers into higher elevations in the mountains should be prepared for hazardous winter weather and possible road closures," the Weather Service advised. "Carry chains and take extra food, water and clothing."

In addition to snow, there will be winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph near ridge tops, according to the Weather Service. A high wind warning is in effect.
