Christmas At The Diamond

Each year, Cops for Kids distributes toys to disadvantaged children in the Lake Elsinore Valley. As part of the Christmas At The Diamond 2010, more than 1,000 children and their families are expected to be on hand Dec. 18 at The Diamond Stadium in Lake Elsinore to receive gifts from Santa.

In 2009, Christmas requests were almost 50 percent more than previous years, so the event was changed from its usual plan of home deliveries by Sheriff's deputies to a family Christmas event at the Diamond Stadium. With the assistance of the Lake Elsinore Storm, the Lake Elsinore Unified School District, and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, almost 1,300 children and their families came to the Diamond in 2009.
