Mass Candlelight Vigils For Homicide Victims

The Riverside County District Attorney's Office today announced a series of three vigils to be held for homicide victims, starting April 12.

The first vigil will be held in Palm Desert in the amphitheater at Palm Desert Civic Center Park. Rose Madsen, who leads the local chapters of Families and Friends of Murder Victims, was listed as the keynote speaker, according to district attorney's officials.

Each vigil will begin at 7 p.m.

The following night, on April 13th, Murrieta will host a second vigil at the Southwest Justice Center. Liz Avalos, whose two daughters were murdered, will speak to the audience.

Finally, on April 14th, Riverside's Victims Memorial Courtyard will be the site of the third candlelight vigil. Joseph Bonaminio, father of slain Riverside police officer Ryan Bonaminio, was announced as the speaker for the final ceremony.
