Commuting Ortega Highway

Some call it the death road, others see it as their Sunday putt. Myself - it's my lifeline to work and my home away from home for about two hours a day. So why are you risking my life?

I have been commuting Ortega Highway for MANY years. Twice a day, once over, once back. Over the years, I have always wondered why some people do some of the things they do on Ortega. I'm the type of person who is very aware of her surroundings, so I tend to notice alot.

When I was searching over Patch, I noticed there wasn't anything concentrated on Ortega and was shocked. This would be a wonderful vehicle to use to express concerns, raise awareness, and maybe even save a few lives if the right person reads it.

On November 18th, I witnessed an absolute horrible fatal crash ( to read the story). With all of the years that I have driven Ortega, I have been fortunate enough to never witness a wreck happen. I wasn't so lucky this time. I have driven by countless times. That wreck really opened my eyes even more so. Too many people drive carelessly on that road and quite frankly I'm tired of them risking my life.

In the future, I am looking to put together a few blogs regarding some of the things on Ortega that seem to be a staple. Some are good, most are bad. But first, what bugs you? What have you noticed? I would like to hear from my fellow Ortega commuters :)
