“Second-guessing the professionals.

Update June 22, 2013 took some time and using the cities Consolidated General Plan Map (link below) I have identified 205.17 acres (Photo 2) of land at the Farm that is listed as dedicated to Open Space - Recreation. Of this 38.91 acres has buildings inconsistent with recreation and another 4.28 has no dedication and is privately owned. This is a 21% lost of recreational property to the citizens of Wildomar. Another 2 parcels (Photo 3) consisting of 80.32 acres on the Consolidated map shown as Open Space - Recreation on Clinton Keith has been sold to MSJC by the county pending funding. Wake up Wildomar before the city allows your town to reach build out and you have no more parkland than the current 13 acres of developed parkland and 27 acres of raw land with no money to finish it.
“These are people that are not professionals second-guessing the professionals.” Timothy Wayne Walker, Mayor of Wildomar (June 12, 2013 "The Press Enterprise)
When the City of Wildomar incorporated on July 1, 2008 the adopted the Riverside County General plan dated October 2003 without the 2008 updates.

Open Space-Recreation (OS-R) - The Open Space-Recreation land use designation allows for active and passive recreational uses such as parks, trails, camp grounds, athletic fields, golf courses, and off-road vehicle parks. Ancillary structures may be permitted for recreational opportunities. Actual building or structure size, siting, and design will be determined on a case by case basis.
This is a sample of Open Space-Recreation land as shown on the “City of Wildomar Consolidated General Plan Map” found at http://cityofwildomar.org/uploads/files/maps/GENERAL_PLAN_MAKER_36_36.pdf.  This property is located in the north-east section of “The Farm Community”. This is what’s there today. (See Photo 1). Black outlines are designated as OS-R. Looks closely in the middle of the photo, a lovely place to recreate.
