WILDOMARIANS BEING SOLD A BILL OF GOODS ONCE AGAIN

There is talk of what is being called a passive park between a newly approved housing tract and the Murrieta Creek in the vicinity of Palomar St. and McVicar St.
In my opinion this is nothing more than an attempt to pacify the citizens of the community by offering up more wasteland (land that a developer cannot develop economically) and calling it a park. I guess this is what happens in a city that collects no Quimby Fee to purchase a suitable parcel of land for a park, even if we had a Master Parks and Recreation Element to (our) General Plan that defined what a park should be, which of course we don’t.
1st off some are calling this a passive park all the while talking about soccer fields and such. A "Passive Park" is a public area designated as a park, but does not afford facilities or equipment for exercise or play: i.e a nature park or greenspace. It can have benches or trails, but is not conducive for for any "Active" use, such as sport or play.
2nd , once again Wildomarian’s will receive a place with no restrooms as this is a retention basin.
3rd, it is 2 lots split by a flood control channel. One is 2.75 acres 180-200 ft wide X 520 ft long usable, the lots are wider but slopes and maintenance roads prevent there use.. The other is 8.48 acres, 300 ft wide at its widest point running about 300 ft in length and necking down to approximately 120 ft in width, total length is about 1,600 ft. This passive park will be approximately 5 ft above the Murrieta Creek which borders it on the west side the full length which means the chances are it will receive copious amounts of sediment deposited in it every winter along with serious amounts of water from all the newly planted lawns in the development the rest of the year. There will be no parking lot unless some of the park is given up in the smaller section and unless the developer is willing to allow it in the HOA by-laws, no access will be allowed in the larger section through the development which will necessitate a bridge over the flood channel.
Once again homes will border this passive park which will lead to issues currently being experience by the existing parks in Wildomar
