Lake Elsinore Coming Together For Clean-up Day, Free BBQ And Baseball Game

In addition to helping out the community, the June 15 event includes some free perks!

The City of Lake Elsinore is asking local residents, community organizations and businesses to turn out June 15 for the "Clean Extreme" event that aims to make the city a nicer place to live and visit.

The City began the “Clean Extreme” cleanup program last year. It's designed to bring together the community and volunteers to help clean up parts of Lake Elsinore.

This year, the designated cleanup areas are the Presidential Tract, 3rd Street Annexation and Riverside Drive between Lakeshore Drive and Grand Ave, according to a news release from the city.

Residents of these areas are encouraged to place any trash, bulky items or debris on the curb for free trash pick-up on this date.

Additionally, volunteers are invited to participate by turning out to help with cleanup activities that include removing trash and debris, trimming and removing weeds, and abating graffiti on structures, the news release states.

In addition to helping out the community, the event includes some free perks! Following the June 15 event, there will be a free BBQ for volunteers at the Storm Stadium from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. In addition, volunteers will receive a free ticket to be used at any 2013 Storm Baseball game.

The cleanup takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. There will be a pre-event kickoff meeting at Seers Plaza (32391 Riverside Drive) at 7:30 a.m., which will include sign-up forms and instructions. Volunteers need to wear proper shoes (no flip-flops, sandals, etc.) and attire and may want to bring gloves, masks, water, hats, and sunscreen, according to the news release.
