Don’t be fooled by the lopsided number of hateful, ill-informed comments you see here or in other news media.
They are written by the same small percentage of very angry, confused people who are hell bent on spreading their message of doom and gloom.
Comments from the Obama blamers and haters are meant to discourage you and dissuade you from participating fully in the coming elections.
These are the people who listen to the outrageous rants and foul language of media demagogues from all points of the political spectrum, and then welcome the opportunity to spread their message of defeatism to the American public.
These detractors of our President and many other good men and women making valiant efforts to pull this county into full recovery and out of the insanity of perpetual foreign wars would like everyone to believe their unreasonable doubts, fears and apprehensions. They would like you all to believe the American dream has been irreversibly damaged and the downfall of our country and loss of our precious freedoms are inevitable.
Don’t believe these lies! Don’t let these hate mongers and self-serving radicals rob you of the American dream.
You should be justifiably suspicious of anyone who paints a picture of such outlandish, harmful and depressing views of our shared future. The intention is not to inform you, but to try to control you with their fear and intimidation … to disenfranchise you … and threaten you if you choose to express your support for the current Democratic administration publicly.
Don’t allow these pessimistic, downbeat people sell you their falsehood of defeatism.
These detractors of the President and our ideal of real democratic government are part and parcel of the media pimps who lie to the masses.
Their commentary and reporting are most often politically based, false and misleading.
This is meant to strike terror into your hearts and shatter your confidence in our ability to renew an America full of equality and opportunity.
Put these vicious, self-defeating ideas aside.
Grab hold of the true facts, and hold tight to the promise of a positive future and the genuine goodness to be found in most of our fellow citizens. Proof of that goodness is all around us. You just have to look beyond the near constant flow of negativity, widespread government corruption, and the shrill voices of the fear- mongering jerks.
Franklin Roosevelt was right in 1933 as he took the Oath of Office when the Great Depression had reached its depth.
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” America saw the depths of terrible, prolonged depression back then, just as we see the extended recessionary economy now.
This didn’t defeat us then and it won’t defeat us now – unless you allow these few, but very vocal radicals talk you into defeat.
There are many difficulties to be resolved, and it will take a great deal of time, cooperation and hard work to cope with these problems.
However, with true democratic principles as the bedrock of our new foundation, we can rebuild our economy with a strong middle class and rekindle a more equitable, prosperous society.
To do this we must raise the bar for our elected representatives by several notches and select our leaders with the greatest care.
It is time to challenge the status quo of entrenched career politicians, slam the doors of congress shut to lobbyists and radicals, and undo the vast injustice of the Citizens United decision.
We must replace the extremist representatives who want to squander our taxes on bloated defense budgets, cut our safety net of social services, and place ever greater wealth in the hands of the ultra rich. And most of all, we have to elect people who will prevent the enactment of a system of both federal and state laws which will create second-class American citizens with reduced rights and weakened protections.
It is unfortunate that the current presidential election has unleashed a torrent of despicable attack ads and demagoguery of the worst sort. We can expect our airwaves to be full of boldfaced lies from now until November. But we must put our faith in reason and truth, and trust in the fact that the voters still get to decide who will be elected to lead this country and in what direction we will turn.
Misinformation, prejudice and outright racism may influence some voters, but good people all across this country will not fall into that trap.
They will recognize the falsehoods and correctly identify the extremists among our candidates and vote other, more enlightened people into office.
The restoration of American democracy won’t come easily and it can’t be delivered overnight, but if anyone can get us out of this current quagmire and on the road to greater recovery it is Barrack Obama working with elected representatives from both sides of the aisle, who support true cooperation and sensible compromise to ensure a fair and just American society.
If you want that kind of America, you must reelect President Obama.
