Oak Meadows Ranch and the City of Wildomar

An update about Oak Meadows Ranch and the City of Wildomar. It appears in the near future Oak Meadows Ranch and those that appreciate and love what Oak Meadows Ranch does for the community of Wildomar and horse lovers throughout the Temecula Valley and beyond should attend a City Hall meeting in support of Oak Meadows Ranch.

Even though the Mayor Timothy Walker and his wife have visited the ranch about 3 months ago and took a tour of the ranch agreed with what was going on the ranch which is zoned Residential – Agricultural and would talk to the Planning Department and Code Enforcement because many of the things the Planning Department has a problem with Oak Meadows Ranch is zoned to do. Not the Mayor but other city officials are just determined to get fees out of Oak Meadows Ranch. The Mayor when visiting the ranch made it clear he had no knowledge that the City of Wildomar City Planner and Code Enforcement had visited the ranch several times including writing letters to Oak Meadows Ranch .

So many of those that drive Bundy Canyon Rd. compliment Oak Meadows Ranch for what it has done for the City of Wildomar and what an improvement the property is over the last 15 months. Many have commented that Oak Meadows Ranch is the best looking property on Bundy Canyon, a far cry from what it was before when goat herders were living on the property and in the 400 sq. ft. home and shed with at least 4 adults and 4 children including a baby. Raising goats, slaughtering goats, burning off their fur with torches and then cutting up the meat to sell. Here is a video taken from ABC 7 LA News when the goat herders were living on the property approximately 2 years ago when a calf was shot and killed: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/local/inland_empire&id=7912443 Please note the conditions of the property and how the property has improved over the last 15 months.

The City of Wildomar Code Enforcement for approximately 1 year has been in contact and in discussions with Oak Meadows Ranch regarding issues many that existed for years due to the house was built in 1954 and the original owner used the property as a construction dump filling the ravines with concrete etc. and then dumping dirt on top of the debris. Driving on Bundy and throughout Wildomar there are many properties that appear to have code violations and an eye soar but the City Planner and an Code Enforcement just keep after Oak Meadows Ranch including having changed the flow of water should there be a flood which even the Mayor of Wildomar has agreed has not been done since Oak Meadows Ranch took possession of the property. Oak Meadows Ranch has numerous times gone to the City of Wildomar trying to get permits such as for adding what is called a Mare Hotel that is a horse stall with a cover and be denied. Oak Meadows Ranch is within the time frame of updating the wiring in the house that was built in 1954 which is being done by a licensed contractor and well repairs were done by a licensed contractor with North County Pump Service that repairs many wells including in the City of Wildomar and knows what does and does not need permits for the work they do. The City of Wildomar has a problem with some grading that took place which was discussed with the City of Wildomar Mayor which the Mayor agreed that as a ranch zoned Residential – Agricultural and over 5 acres could be done.

The city officials of the City of Wildomar appear to be determined to impose so many permits, fees and fines that the landlord of the property which the property known as Oak Meadows Ranch has a Lease Option to Buy lose their lease or the option to purchase because the City of Wildomar is continuously contacting the owner of the property so the lease could be canceled and costs those at Oak Meadows Ranch so much in permit, fees and fines that Oak Meadows Ranch can no longer save the lives of horses and no longer be able to feed the horses they have rescued and saved from being slaughtered and no longer be able to share the horses with those that would like to visit the private ranch and be with horses that can’t be with horses due to where they live can’t have horses, the expense of boarding, feeding or there is no public arena to ride a horse that is close by.
