$13 Million Lost in Lake Elsinore Fire, Officials Say

Riverside County fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a Lake Elsinore commercial facility that led to an estimated $13 million in damages, officials said Wednesday.

According to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department, a fire erupted around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Pacific Aggregates plant in the 28000 block of Lake Street.

The fire burned along a three story conveyor belt, which is where firefighters managed to keep it, according to Hagemann.

Still, the cost of the losses is estimated at $13 million-- though $3 million in property was saved, Hagemann said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Pacific Aggregates provides things like mining and aggregates and ready-mixed concrete.
