Riverside County fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a Lake Elsinore commercial facility that led to an estimated $13 million in damages, officials said Wednesday.

According to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department, a fire erupted around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Pacific Aggregates plant in the 28000 block of Lake Street.

The fire burned along a three story conveyor belt, which is where firefighters managed to keep it, according to Hagemann.

Still, the cost of the losses is estimated at $13 million-- though $3 million in property was saved, Hagemann said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Pacific Aggregates provides things like mining and aggregates and ready-mixed concrete.

I didn't know concrete and rocks were flammable? That must have been a Gold clad conveyer to be worth just a mere 13 million dollars.

How much you want to bet that an employee left the conveyor belt on after their shift and it burned out the motor? Seen that happen before and if thats the case the insurance won't pay out.

Rob wouldn't that be something if you are right, no big insurance pay day (ROTFLMAO).

Castle and Cook, Pacific Aggregates and Pacific Clay are terrible neighbors. They continually have debris on the road and there is rock debris that has washed out of their main entrance sitting on Lake Street across from the park. The city code enforcement needs to bust these guys for the rocks left behind just the the Lake Elsinore Police do that write me a ticket for the broken windshield I received from the rock tossed up by another vehicle!
