UPDATE: 15 Freeway Reopens After Big Rig And Truck Collide

The crash was reported shortly around 7 a.m. Monday just south of Main Street on the southbound I-15.

4/16 UPDATE AT 9:01 a.m.: All lanes of traffic on the southbound 15 Freeway through Lake Elsinore have reopened after an early morning crash involving a box truck and a big rig caused significant delays.

The crash was reported around 7 a.m. Monday just south of Main Street.

According to CHP Officer Nathan Baer, the box truck driver was traveling southbound in the number two lane and changed into the number three lane in front of the big rig.

The box truck driver "slowed rapidly," Baer said, causing the big rig driver to hit him from behind.

After the hit, the box truck overturned into the number one and two lanes, where it blocked traffic.

"The box truck driver claimed his brakes locked up, but we were unable to duplicate that on the scene," Baer said.

"There were no notable injuries," Baer continued.

The crash remains under investigation.
