15 Suspected Gang Members Arrested In Sweep
The operation took place Thursday "in areas frequented by gang members" and door-to-door as officers conducted probation and parole compliance checks on "documented gang members."
A gang sweep in Hemet/San Jacinto Valley conducted by various law enforcement agencies has resulted in 15 arrests, the sheriff's department is reporting.
The operation took place Thursday "in areas frequented by gang members" and door-to-door as officers conducted probation and parole compliance checks on "documented gang members," according to a news release from Sgt. Jeff Davis of the sheriff's Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force.
"The event resulted in a lengthy drug investigation that led to the recovery of approximately 5 ½ ounces of methamphetamine, a methamphetamine lab with two people in-custody, and two juveniles placed into protective custody. Officers seized approximately $16,500 for asset forfeiture proceedings," Davis reported.

The following 14 people were arrested for felony offenses and one for a misdemeanor, according to Davis:

In addition to the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, other law enforcement teams that participated in the Jan. 16 sweep include members of the Hemet San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force, the Post-Release Accountability & Corrections Team, and the Hemet Police Department's Street Enforcement Team.
