Two people had to be extricated from wreckage Sunday night by Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews after they crashed on the side of the southbound 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore, an official is reporting.
The solo-vehicle crash was reported at 10:07 p.m. just north of Nichols Road, according to a report from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.
Both people sustained “moderate injuries” and were transported to an area hospital, according to the report.
Ten firefighters and three engines were called to the scene, Hagemann’s report continued.
There were no other injuries reported.
The identities of the crash victims were not provided.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
