20 Men Arrested In Prostitution Sting

A police sting targeting “Johns” seeking sex from prostitutes netted 20 arrests, authorities are reporting.

Between the hours of noon and 11 p.m. Tuesday, detectives from the Corona Police Department conducted an undercover “Internet based John” operation in a hotel near Maple Street and SR-91 in Corona. During the sting, 20 men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution after answering Internet ads that police had posted. The men were nabbed when they responded to hotel rooms to engage in sex acts, according to a news release from the department.

“For the past several months, the Corona Police Department’s Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence Unit has been addressing community concerns regarding prostitution. Business owners have complained about prostitutes loitering in certain areas with men soliciting sex acts from them. Female citizens have also complained about strange men soliciting them for sex acts as they walk to and from their homes,” according to the release.
