Lake Elsinore Police Department's Special Enforcement Team and Region 6 Gang Taskforce made the bust.

Used to live in the "Hills" of Lake Elsinore by McVicker Park. I moved out after a year. Actually it was the worst year of my life. The town has so MUCH potential and it saddened me that it was being wasted away. My house got broken into just a few weeks after I moved in. I did the right thing and moved out. THANK GOD!!!

What's sad is a lot of you would rather take this opportunity to talk about welfare instead of how we can remove the blight of drugs from our city. I've lived here 5 years now and we can do better. I have a son at Elsinore Middle School and I worry about the drugs, hate, and racism here. Your posts don't make me feel any better.

LE has been scary since I was a kid. Its too bad that the cheap IE prices brought inner city blight that ruined nice towns and made bad towns worse. I remember the parks fenced off bc LE couldn't afford to maintain them. That showed me the town's priorities and I vowed to never live there because of that. Good luck, IE. You need it.

"I live in Tuscany Hills area we have no problems here." Don't you honestly think that a small child drowning at your rec center is "no problem" ?
MAO December 11, 2012 at 10:46 am
Maybe if there were more jobs available there wouldn't be that many dealers out there everyone shouldn't judge people until they know the whole story, as for getting a education I see a lot of may have to go back to school with all the misspelled words and as for testing people that are applying for welfare goes that not smart our state is already in debt a test for every applicant for welfare would break california know the facts people Have a good day.
Lizsmith December 11, 2012 at 10:57 am
That child wasn't being watched by his supervisor just as in any non life guarded community pool that would or could happen. That was a tradegy and not due to the "area".
That happens anywhere! Thanks though for throwing that in with drug related and crime related issues.. Big of you.

DB December 11, 2012 at 11:18 am
Drive around Dog, while my 3 acres of vineyard and orchard, and 2500 square foot home overlooking the lake may not hit the million dollar mark, it is far from 20k..........the issue is exactly as described, people renting to people that do crime.....Landlords need to come down of the renters.
Bad renters living next door? Call the landlord, complain.....call the cops, complain.....eventually, the landlord has to do something about it. I own 3 rentals in the area.....I run complete background checks and you bet I discriminate, if I do not like the way someone looks, acts, talks, walks, smells, or for whatever reason, I do not rent to them.....plain and simple.......take pride in your neighborhood.....when you see crime, reports it.....put up cameras EVERYWHERE! Illigeal aliens…..report them…..if you suspect there is an illegal alien living next door, report them, get them deported, let them go through the same process my great grand-parents went through. Another issue, halfway houses surround the lake, want proof, go to crimemaps, look at all the registered sex offenders in LV…….people get paroled here, they stay here and invite their hommies, cousins and anyone else to do criminal crap……in LV near Grand/Blackwell, 3 are 4 halfway houses/recovery homes within ¼ mile, get rid of the halfway houses….
DB December 11, 2012 at 12:56 pm
Yep, thats it, unemployemnt makes people deal drugs.....most dope dealers could not pass a pre-employment drug test...........the majority of the dealers I see around town are unemployable due to drug abuse, immigration status, felony backgrounds, etc.......oh, you would actually have to go and work to earn money.......can't have that when you are strung out on drugs......jobs tend to get in the way of dealing drugs for most dealers.......

Ever since obama got reelected ive noticed the closet racists making sneaky remarks.Crime isn't exclusive to any particular race immigration got nothing to do with it.Just because someone is on welfare doesn't make them bad people.Criminals commit crimes.Racists look to blame anybody that doesn't look like them.Racists are usually pretty ignorant.Educate yourselves and try to become part of the solution and not part of the problem you know who you are racist people.

Just because they're low income, doesn't mean they have to deal drugs. I am low income and have plenty of friends that are low income. We don't do that crap. We work. We may not make a ton of money, but we keep it honest. When will this country stop making excuses or spreading that type of BS. "I suppose u would rather see low income live under a rock!". Really? Again, low income, has nothing to do with it.

Somewhere deep in the General Plan Guidelines are references to how often both the plans and theRead More various studies that support the General Plan EIR should be updated. If you think about the rapid growth Riverside County has experienced over the last couple of decades, it is just plain good common sense to require these updates if the document is to remain serviceable. 2003 versions are now 10 years old, and many of the supporting studies in the EIR are even older. It's bad enough when a city or county is forced to work with an old plan, but it is far worse not to have adopted any plan at all. It's much like getting into the car without any sense of direction - let alone a map or GPS.

It would be hard to prove a negative. Are you insinuating that the money for additional policeRead More protection was wasted? Seems like simple logic to me that increased police presence over time would result in less crime, which would in-turn lead to more tourism, which would bring in more money for the City. Laguna Niguel is ranked every year as one of the safest cities in the U.S. Since there's so little crime there, why do they waste their money on any police at all???
LAKE ELSINORE RESIDENT June 17, 2013 at 12:45 pm
I want to see more cops on the street and I want to know if there was less crime.. I think weRead More need more police and I believe the PSAC is a waste of money, money which could go towards more police (no matter how small).

Maybe when the week is over they can give you an answer... "There will be more deputies onRead More patrol in Lake Elsinore during the week of June 17-23, a sheriff’s sergeant is reporting. The beefed up patrols come as Lake Elsinore readies for increased summertime traffic. “As part of the city of Lake Elsinore's commitment to public safety the Lake Elsinore Police Department will be deploying additional units to enforce distracted driving, seatbelt violators, drinking and driving, as well as other traffic laws, the week of June 17-23,” according to a news release from Sgt. Peter Giannakakos, who serves out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station."

Martha L. Bridges June 15, 2013 at 07:20 pm
Rose, we've had five years of having celebrations large and small with all the trappings ofRead More city-hood that Bridgette Moore could conjure up - right down to spending money the city didn't have to purchase monogrammed M&M. I suggest it's time to ring the bell and then get back to the real work of running the city. That would include doing the essential foundational work that has been skipped over in favor of window dressing and nonsense for the first five years.

To be clear, Supervisor Jeffries is not yet in support of charging for parking at the hospital, butRead More supported Supervisor Stone's request to have it evaluated, and is willing to consider it based on the results. In his quotes that day he mentioned that when Kaiser started charging for their new structure, they almost immediately changed their mind because the response was so negative. Supervisor Jeffries' main interest in supporting a study of all the county's parking facilities was to determine whether we could save money on the parking structures we already charge for by going to an automated system, rather than staffing it full time with multiple county employees. We have been told that we are actually losing money on the fees we collect for parking, and if that is true, we want to either switch to a cheaper collection system or eliminate the fees entirely.
Chris Twining June 13, 2013 at 12:55 am
Let's hope not. Charging for parking, especially at a hospital, is disgusting to say the least. IRead More got an idea. Let's see if just one elected official can so SOMETHING!!! other than sitting around trying to figure out more and more ways to separate us from our money. Do you have a clue as to what's going on around you? Do you get out of bed in the morning? turn on the TV? go outside? You are 10 years too late. That kind of thing from elected politicians is over. Stop trying to raise money. There are so many things out there you could be doing to make a good name for yourself, and 99% of those things involve cutting spending. Get to the bottom of some things. Imagine how people would react to that. They would swarm at your feet and hold you in high regard. And if you ever find yourself in the hospital, I will gladly come visit you as long as I dont have to pay to park.
