3 Lakeside High School Students Busted For Marijuana

They were arrested Dec. 12 following a community tip.

As the school day began Thursday at Lakeside High School, a few students were allegedly engaging in illegal activities off campus.

The tip that these teens may have been doing something outside the law came Dec. 11 when the Lake Elsinore Police Department’s School Resource Officer Unit received information alleging that students were involved with drugs in a nearby residential area, according to a report from sheriff’s Sgt. Ken Chaffin.

So Thursday at approximately 7:45 a.m., the officers followed up on the concerns.

Chaffin reported officers spotted a parked vehicle in the 3500 block of Eisenhower Drive with five juveniles inside.

“Several of the juveniles were smoking cigarettes when contacted,” Chaffin reported.

Three of the kids were in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, Chaffin alleged.

“They were subsequently arrested and released to a parent,” he added.

The names of the students were not released due to their age.
