A 51-year-old Menifee resident accused of stealing from senior citizens in Lake Elsinore and Homeland posted bail last week, once a judge determined the money did not come from ill-gotten gains.
Frankie Jay Szabo allegedly stole more than $50,000 from the seniors.
On Friday, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Becky Dugan accepted a declaration from a bondsman regarding the source of funds for bail, court records indicate.
Records subpoened from Citibank were also received by the court, records showed.
The judge ordered the defendant to wear an ankle bracelet to monitor his movements and was warned not to tamper with the device, according to court records.
Szabo was released Friday on bond for $55,000 bail, jail records indicate.
He was ordered back to court Nov. 13 for a trial readiness conference; trial was set for Nov. 26 in Dept. 41 at the Riverside Hall of Justice.
Court records show that Szabo also goes by the names of Mike Schwartz, Franklin Jay Szabo, Frank Jay Zzabo, and Frank Jay Szabo.
